Burlesque and Cabaret Portraiture
National Award Winning Photographer Neil Kendall has had his work published in publications as diverse as The Guardian to Playboy Magazine and was called ‘ a genuine talent’ by Dita Von Teese. In this hour-long lecture he uncovers tricks of the  trade. As well as guiding you through a shoot with a model, he looks at copyright, model releases, the business of photography and promotion through today's challenging Social Media outlets.  He then moves on to discuss the creative elements of a shoot, including posing your model, flattering light, accentuating features, and creating the perfect setting. A question and answer session will follow the talk.  ...

A History of Burlesque : 100 Years of Undressing to Music
In this hour-long lecture. Burlesque Hall of Fame Board Member and acclaimed Burlesque Historian Neil Kendall delves into the colourful and flamboyant history of Burlesque.  From the British Music Halls ‘Tableaux Vivant’, to the full blown glamour of the Minskys Stage in the 1940’s, through to the Go Go dancing clubs of the 1960’s, this eccentric and swift moving lecture uncovers the fascinating history of Burlesque by a man who has been friends to legendary starts of the Burlesque Stage such as Tempest Storm and Blaze Starr . Richly illustrated with images and exhibits from the pop-up Striptease museum which also appears at the festival, "100 years years of undressing to music" is eye-opening yet educational and thought provoking. ...

Ewa Justka, Galaxians, Housewives, Trans/Human, DUDS, Isis Moray, Negative Midas Touch, Toucans, Acid Mass, Baglady, Sleep Terminal, Experimental Sonic Machines, Tape Noise.

Sheffield DIY collective The Audacious Art Experiment returns to the Picture House Social for another Bank Holiday marathon of intense and delirious underground sonics, chopped against the rarest visual stimulants.

Featuring 15 acts curated over 12 hours, TAAE will take you on a fibre optic journey through their favourite zones of noise, pop, loud, bounce, indie, techno, quiet, odd, weird and shuffle. All via 3 interchanging rooms and a few Windows compatible PC towers.

Performances come from acclaimed UK DIY acts such as London’s sonic innovator Ewa Justka, Leeds’ future funk navigators Galaxians, newly signed Rocket Recordings quartet Housewives and rising Manchester no-wave legends DUDS. All this will be backed and buffered by the cream of Sheffield’s current TAAE squad and stable mates Isis Moray, Baglady, Toucans, Acid Mass, Negative Midas Touch and Sleep Terminal. If that wasn’t enough, the ever advancing noise duo Trans/Human will make a special main stage appearance, whilst Lincoln collective Weird Garden take over the outside decking with performances from the esoteric kinetic sculptor Experimental Sonic Machines and Tape Noise.
